The Clock is Ticking!

This limited series is a sequel to the film that came out around 2010, but you wouldn't have to watch the film in order to understand whats going on, but it helps. The story is based off off of the comics and follows a cop from Tulsa, and in the town all cops have to where masks due to the racism that has plagued the town for years. Some weird stuff starts to happen and basically this thing called the doomsday clock is ticking down and the end of the world is coming. I wanna say the first 4 episodes are confusing but not in a bad way, they set up a lot and left me honestly wanting more. By about episode 5 everything started unraveling and wow is it worth the wait.

One of the things I really loved about this film was the way they handled the mystery in each character. At the beginning everyone is very secretive, but as the season goes on there are episodes mostly dedicated to specific characters explaining their past and who they really are. There are also a lot of plot twists, most of them I didn't see coming because of how secretive the show is. The show will show you something that at the time you see as really nothing or not that important but a few episodes later it is a key part of the plot. It really is amazing to be apart of.

I also really likes how the show addresses systemic racism and how the world still has people who see someone of a different race as of lower status than them. The show uses real historical events like the Tulsa massacre and tries to link those events to the modern day events of the show. I really like how they play with historical events both good and bad.

Overall, Watchmen is a must much in my mind, its gripping, mind blowing, and really leaves you wanting more. Since it is only one season I feel this is the perfect time to hop of HBO and watch since we are all stuck inside for the foreseeable future.
